The 2024 TSP contribution limit is $23,000/year ($30,500 if 50+). Members serving in combat zones can contribute up to $69,000 tax-free. The L Funds (lifecycle funds) automatically adjust allocation as you approach retirement — L 2050 is appropriate for most servicemembers in their 20s–30s. C Fund (S&P 500 equivalent) has averaged 10.5% annually since inception.
