Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays a flat federal benefit rate reduced by your countable income. The 2024 federal rate is $943/month for an individual. Some states add a supplement on top. Calculate your exact monthly SSI benefit here.

SSI income exclusions: SSA ignores the first $20 of any income, the first $65 of earned income, and half of remaining earned income. A $1 reduction applies for every $2 of countable earned income and $1 for every $1 of countable unearned income above the exclusions. The resource limit is $2,000 for an individual ($3,000 for a couple).
