Before 2003, military retirees had to waive retirement pay equal to their VA disability compensation. Concurrent receipt programs — CRDP and CRSC — restored that money. Check which program you qualify for and calculate how much more you should be receiving monthly.

CRDP (Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay) automatically restores waived retirement pay for retirees with a combined VA rating of 50%+. CRSC (Combat-Related Special Compensation) is available for retirees with any VA rating for combat-related conditions — and the payment is tax-free. You can't receive both — DFAS pays whichever is higher automatically for CRDP; apply for CRSC through your branch of service.
